The New iPad's Are Here

The new iPads are here, the new iPad's are here!

And the Apple Store was ready and willing to assist.

There wasn't the normal line up, you could walk right in.

Usually there is a huge line, they greet you when you first

enter the line, offer you a bottle of water and give you a

card for the item you want.

Then when you get to the front of the line, one of these

wonderful people in blue take you into the store and get

you what you need.  It's all very organized.

 They take your money very efficiently. 

Happy Birthday Relief Society

Tonight I attended the Relief Society Birthday party.  It was a 

true birthday party complete with cupcakes.

They served us a lovely dinner of salad, garlic bread and pasta.

And a program of song, testimony and heartfelt thoughts.  I enjoyed 

trading my missionary mom hat, for just a relief society sister hat.

Prom!

Last night was prom, something Courtney has waited 

for, for over two years.  And it was all worth it.

She looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress, with her

 hair and makeup.

Heather drove her down to Grandma's to let her see 

her baby granddaughter.  Not such a baby any more.

She started the day off early with breakfast and a trip to

Crystal Springs for some tubing and swimming.

Then she came home, got cleaned up and went to have

her hair done by a professional and her make up done

by her sister, just as good as a professional.

We were able to Skype with her when her date came to

pick her up, she looked beautiful and he looked very

handsome.  They went to Barker Park and had pictures

taken by Heather and Brad, then off to dinner at

Jasoh and next to the prom at the Union Station!

Oh, what a night, what a fabulous night.

Rockford Trestle Bridge

This has been our week of travel.  We went to Red Deer on Tuesday

and Wednesday then up to Grande Prairie on Thursday and drove

home Saturday.  The weather has been so nice that we drove.

We've passed this bridge several times and I've never got a picture.

 So Saturday, on our way home, we stopped to let me take one.

It's a beautiful trestle bridge.

Looks kind of like a large tinker toy project.

I can't believe they run trains on this thing, I wouldn't want to ride

on it.  Just like an old time wooden roller coaster.

I think I like the view from down here just fine.

As Sisters In Zion

We had a Stake Relief Society Women's Conference today.  I have

to admit, I went reluctantly.  We had ZLC at the mission home, and I

should be there to feed the elders, that's my calling, I shouldn't

be off with the sisters and on and on and on.  But I talked to my

dear friend Sandie and she invited me, so I decided to go.

President said he would just buy pizza's but that doesn't sit well with

me, if there's one thing I can do right, it's cook and I don't want

my missionaries eating pizza, if I can help it.  So I worked out a 

nice lunch by cleaning out my freezer.  I had enough italian beef

and sweet pork to feed an army.  And I did from the look of things

when I got home. (no leftovers) I threw out some taco and tortilla shells,
shredded lettuce, cheese, salsa, sour cream and tortilla chips.  Perfect!

We started with brunch then went right to work.  We stayed in the 

gym and worked on tying quilts.  They had 60 quilts to tie and our 

table was the first to finish our quilt, yeah!  Not that I'm competitive.

Our table is working on our second quilt.  We were able to finish about half 

of the 60 quilts for the homeless.  There was a lot of work that went into the

service projects before we even started.  They also made cards, bean bags and
knitted washcloths.  These are sisters from the Nottingham and Clarkdale Wards.

The cute little sister on the left is a recent convert of one week.  Bless

her heart for coming and supporting.  She's seeing what "charity" is

all about, first hand.

As you can see, charity never faileth.

Look at all the sisters, and every table has a quilt on it.

The guest speaker was Wendy Watson Nelson,  Elder Nelson's wife.
I didn't find out until about a month ago that she is Sister Card's sister.
Sister Card is the Edmonton Temple matron.  She was wonderful, no
 really.  I went in with a few reservations, don't ask.  But I came away
with a renewed sense of purpose and desiring to be a "holy" women.

Her talk was inspirational and awe inspiring.  Thank you Sister Nelson.

March Zone Leader Council

We had a Stake Relief Society Women's Conference today.  I have

set up for ZLC, little did I know that he was taking

the picture to make fun of me.  See all the little sticky

notes, they are instructions of where things are to go

and in what serving order.  I don't see anything funny 

about that, not in the least.  I'm just organized, is there

anything wrong with being a little organized?

I don't think so.

Prom!

Courtney got asked to the prom. . . . again!

Talk about a lifesaver, Courtney needs to thank her lucky stars

that she's been given a second chance and she has a date.
