Happy ZLC Halloween!

I love when there is a holiday in the month of ZLC,
because then it's so much easier to plan the lunch menu.
It's Halloweeeeen!
So, of course the first thing I decided on was the dessert.
I made orange filled hostess and candy corn cupcakes.  Delish!
Chocolate covered pretzels
Doesn't matter what punch you serve, just dye it orange.
I served sloppy joes on orange buns, BBQ and All Dressed chips,
they're also orange, carrots and olives, very halloweenie.
Even if it doesn't look like Halloween things, you just add clever names.
They played fish bowl before lunch.
A lot of conference questions, it was great.
scripture chase
Lunch, after I added the tags.

Everyone got a little trick or treat bag,
with treats,
but no tricks.
these boots were silly shiny
This is what I put in the treat bags, it was kind of fun.

It's Halloween!

Time to deck the halls, oh sorry, wrong holiday.  But I'm still
going to creep the halls, time to put out the Halloween decorations.
 Gotta love it!

Even the store fronts are into it.  Love Linus and Snoopy, waiting
in the pumpkin patch, for the great pumpkin.  The cupcake doesn't
sound too bad either.
I told Chris I wasn't going to buy anything new this year,
because I'd just have to pack it up and take it home,  but don't you
love the spiderweb table cloth?  Me too!
I love the orange charger, I'm going to look into those for next year.
Spooky aprons for cooking
pictures of our little ones, from years gone by.
found this really sophisticated mask, for a dollar.
Taking it home to Courtney.
And my village, my lovely, horrible, frightening village.
Breaking it down so you can see the details.

the pumpkin patch, it doesn't all have to be scary.
Except the graveyard, it has to be scary.
I put my crafty skills to work, not!  I bought the wreath and ribbon
a year ago and this year I just twisted the ribbon around the wreath,
tied a bow and voila, not to shabby for my simple talents.

Clever!

A couple of elders presented this to me, over a year ago,
it is very clever and I've hung on to it.
They made one of these to take to each of their dinner
appointments with a little piece of magnet in the back
so the family could hang it on their fridge.  A great deal of work.
The tag says, member missionary and it encourages the family to:
pray and follow the spirit
give service
develop friendships
open your mouth to share the restored gospel
invite others to do things to increase their faith in Christ

Now I need to figure out how they folded it, because
 they've both gone home.
They made this one special, just for us,
see it says, "love ya Campbell's", we love you too!

Skiing Anyone?

Anyone up for a little skiing?  And when I say "little"
I mean the ski resort's in Edmonton.
There are no mountains to speak of in Edmonton, so they snow
ski on these little hills.
It's okay, because it's all they know and they are fine with it.
It's hardly worth the trip up the lift.  Although, I could
really learn to ski on a hill like this one, right?

Grande Cache

We thought we'd drive through Grande Cache on our way home,
it might be our last opportunity.
We were excited to see the fall leaves,
they were okay, but nothing spectacular.
Lots of yellows, a few oranges,
no red leaves.  We haven't seen any at all this year.
This was a gorgeous valley, filled with color.
Unfortunately, no moose, not a one.
But we did find this bighorn sheep,
"world's largest" according to a website I found.  Regrettably,
there are several claims to the "world's largest" bighorn sheep.
This is a rock Inuksuk.
And this is the "world's largest" bear, in Hinton.
Not a very nice friendly looking bear, is he?
Actually, he's quite frightening.  Not like you'd want to
pose your children in front of him.
Now this squirrel, he's cute, kid friendly cute.
He's new on the list, the "world's largest" squirrel in Edson.
See!
We are seeing all kinds of "world's largest" today.

Look, another bighorn sheep, you guessed it, "world's largest".
We see a lot of these too.  They must be proud of their aircraft.
