I Scream!

I decided to celebrate Heather's birthday, even though I was off by

a few months.  Not really celebrate, but asked her what her choice

would be for a birthday dinner.  That will come later.  The important

part was finding out what flavor ice cream she wanted.

She was hesitant of the dairy and raw eggs, so she chose

lemon sorbet.

We found the recipe in my trusty Ben and Jerry's recipe book and mixed

it up, it was quite simple and required no milk.

Then just for fun, we also made fresh strawberry ice cream for Chris,

one of his favorites, likes the fresh fruit idea.

We chopped and stirred and mixed and churned and voila! 

Sorbet and Ice Cream

The lemon sorbet was DELICIOUS, my new favorite.  I kept going back

for another scoop, it was so sweet and refreshing.  After Heather went

home, I finished off the rest of it all by myself.  So good, can't even begin 

to tell you.  One we will be making again, soon.

The strawberry was very good too, just look how pretty it turned out.

I would definitely make this one again, Chris loved it.  

It makes such a perfect scoop, wouldn't you say?

What The Crepe?

Crepes for breakfast, my favorite, and I'm always looking for an

excuse to make them.  I usually only make them when we have company.

So I pray for company.  

We had all the usuals.  Bavarian cream, strawberries, raspberries, peaches,

Nutella, peanut butter and banana's foster.  Yum!

We even had some wonderful homemade syrup that Katie sent us!

Wonderful, marvelous!

Temple and Edo's

We took Heather to the temple and did some sealings.

The other patrons were very nice, we were able to do some marriages and

sealings of children to parents.  We all took turns, it was great.

Then we took Heather to Edo's, for some yummy Japanese food.

We love to eat at Edo's.  It's our go to place quite often.

Tuna and Peas

Of all the fancy meals I could have made,

 Heather wanted tuna and peas on toast.  One of her favorites

and Brad doesn't care for it, so I was happy to oblige. 

It turned out pretty and tasty, pretty tasty.

Then we played a rousing game of "farkle".  Chris even played.

We are having such a great time.

More Shopping

Chris had a follow up training with the newest missionaires,

so Heather and I dropped him off at the Stake Center and I took

her over to South Edmonton Common.  I wanted to show her a new 

store that I've discovered.

A Lindt seconds store.  They have all kinds of Lindt chocolates 

for a discounted price.  The prices aren't that much better, but the

store is awesome.  Rows and rows, bins and bins of chocolate truffles.

Yum!

But the best part of the day is when we got out of the car to check out

the Lindt store and saw a maternity store right next door.

Well naturally that's where we went first.  They were having a sale

and we had a ball.  Heather looked and looked and chose several

things to try on.  There were tops for under $10.  The best part was

when she went back to the dressing room to try some things on.

They had these fake baby bumps that you could strap on and it would

make you look three months further along than you actually were.

She looked soooo cute.  It was fun to see what she might look like

about the time that we get home.  Best invention ever.

She picked up several really cute maternity blouses and didn't pay very

much at all.  It was fun to see her get to take a few things home.

She also went through my closet and took home several things that she

can wear for a little while.  They're not maternity but they will look 

really cute and be something different to change it up.

Then we went to the Lindt store, to get a treat.

What a fun event that I wouldn't have gotten to experience otherwise.

Another wonderful tender mercy, along the way.

Oh yeah, and after we picked up dad from his training, we went
to another mall to look at ties and we couldn't keep Heather from
wrestling this poor steer, whatever!

Hot, Fresh, Buns

I had a lot of ideas for yummy meals and tasty food planned for her visit.

One of those tasty foods was my yummy homemade cinnamon rolls.

I've been using Bart's recipe and they have been so good.  I've made

them quite a few times now.  The only thing I could perfect would be

the shaping of the rolls.  I would like them to look more like the ones

you buy in the stores or bakeries.  Big, with lots and lots of layers.

I'll keep working on them.   It's a treat to eat the defective ones.

Heather!

I had so many things to do with Heather, so many plans.

But she had other plans, her plans were called "making a baby".

She did a lot of eating, little small things to keep her tummy settled,

and a lot of sleeping.  I can't believe my baby's having a baby. WOW!

So she slept, and I did the projects that I had planned.  I really just 

needed someone to be in the room with me, keep me company. 

She was silent company, but good company none the less.

Today I worked on finishing up my blocks.  It's only taken me two

years.  I started out with a starter set, but I felt like I needed to add to

it.  So through the past two years, I have purchased more blocks and

Heather has brought me up more vinyl letters from home.  When I'm 

done, I will be able to say almost anything.  For instance, I only have

one "B", how do you spell "we're having a baby" with only one "B".

And we did all this while it snowed outside.

And snowed, and snowed, and snowed.
