A Stroll Through Old Nauvoo

After we picked up our rental car and found our riders, (we are
taking the Calgary Mission President and his wife with us,
President and Sister Nicholas) we were headed for Nauvoo.
We don't want to go to Iowa City,
but we are definitely in the "heartland".
This isn't the very best picture, but I have never seen so
much corn, corn fields as far as the eye can see.  On the right
and on the left, field after field.
We passed Fort Madison,
I guess this is the fort.
This is the bridge over the Mississippi River,
and just like that, after 2 hours of driving, we are in Illinois.
We turned the car around by this marsh and can you believe it?
Canadian geese, dozens of them, decoys in the water too.
Welcome to Nauvoo, it is just minutes into Illinois.
We drove around town looking for our villas and spotted
the temple.  Gorgeous!
The leaves were beautiful as well.
The Nauvoo temple is so unique and has so much character.
We are so excited to be here and to get here safely.
